Half way point update
The women’s 4XI have had a great season so far, making their way to 2nd in the league table for the West District league. The girls have bonded really well and this has reflected the score-line of their games, also showing great teamwork, skill and dedication. The girls have been continually improving and most recently played Loch Lomond 2XI, securing a 10-0 win. The next big match is against GHK Ladies 4XI on the 24thMarch, as winning this would be massive, ensuring a promotion for next season. These two teams last came head-to-head in October, with Glasgow comfortably attaining a 5-1 win. This bodes well for the girls, and will surely give a positive outlook for the upcoming match. We have been doing similarly well in the BUCs league, currently sitting 3rd on the table beneath Edinburgh 6s and 7s while still being two games under. Matches for BUCs are to commence on the 14thFebruary, and we are confident to start off the new season strong as fighting. Before Christmas, the 4s were winning a majority of the BUCs matches and we hope to continue to do so.

Hillhead 5th XI Away
The 4XI set off to play Hillhead Ladies 5s in our third match in West District. A strong first half saw two solid goals from VC Katharine Griffiths and Kathryn Scougall, putting us 2-0 ahead by half time. The second half proved to be more intense and physical with a number of time stops due to GU injuries but the girls powered on regardless. Within the last 5 minutes we conceded about 4 short corners in a row but with defence working hard and with special mention to Katie McGlinchey, Hillhead were unable to get any outcomes resulting in a 2-0 win to GU!
